Portfolio > Performance Object

Performance Object is an ongoing series that is examining the similarities and differences between the photograph and performance object. Performance art has documentation post-act, while the photograph and the object resonate between the beginning and the end, bringing it closer to the present moment, instead of as an afterthought. If it were just the photograph, it would be seen as photographic proof taken during the performance, indicating that it happened, while if it were just the object, it would be read as a sculpture. Having both creates tension and allow for the work to be pushed beyond 'a photograph of a performance, or a performance for a photograph.'
